Vital: Hunger
Hunger is a primary survival vital in Hex Survival. Failing to manage your hunger levels will lead to eventual death.
1. The Midnight Drain
At Midnight, every player’s hunger bar is reduced by 40% (4 bars out of 10). This “Midnight Toll” is the most significant source of hunger loss and requires players to eat before the day transitions.
2. Restoring Hunger
Hunger is restored by consuming food items. Note that some items (like Stims) actually increase hunger as a side effect of their power boost.
| Item | Hunger Restoration | AP Restoration | Requirements |

| Rations | +30 | +1 | None |
| Salad | +20 | +1 | None |
| Glowing Mushroom | +10 | +1 | None |

3. Where to Find Food
Base Infrastructure
Building specialized facilities at the Base provides a reliable, daily source of food for the town.
- Hydroponic Patch: Produces rations and salad. Resources are added to the Town Bank.
Scavenging Locations
If the base production is insufficient, players must scavenge the wasteland.
- Human Farm Facility: The highest probability of finding Rations (Weight 90) and Salad (Weight 45).
- Ruined City: Moderate chance for Rations (Weight 20).
- Forest: Good source of Glowing Mushrooms (Weight 55) and some Rations (Weight 8).
- Oasis: Small amounts of Salad and Rations can be found here.
